Pearl Jam...not only for grandmothers

Do you remember when you went to visit your favourite aunt or your grandmother, and they always had a simple pearl necklace on. It was a staple in their everyday dressing

So when ever I thought of wearing pearls ....well, at least for me...I thought pearls were something older women would wear.

When looking back, there were a lot of great women that wore them.

Coco Channel would wear her pearls almost everyday.

She was a big fashion Icon. If it wasn't for Coco! Women would still be wearing corsets.

Jacklyn Kennedy Onassis who was a trend maker for many women in her time, and still today her way of dressing still lives on. Jacklyn wore her pearls with class, and I am sure they were given to her as a gift.

Princess Diana who we all remember for her polished way of dressing wore her pearls as a choker, which was more youthful.

Of coarse Madonna.....We cannot forget the time she was at the American Music wearing pearls with her so called wedding dress rolling around on the floor, singing Like a Virgin...putting everyone in shock.

Rhianna loves to load them up.
More is More.... I love that saying
Pearls are a must have....wear them with jeans, leggings and along tunic, add layers of pearls, or just one strand.
PEARLS ARE FOR ALL AGES AND ARE HERE TO STAY.

Clothes Under the Stairs

Do you have any clothes saved any where in your home,

because you feel that they might come back in style or they have sentimental value to you?

Well I do, mine are in the basement under the stairs.

I have about four large plastic bins full of clothes from the

mid 80"s to early 90's.

Yesterday while I was in Wallmart...I badly, did not, want to stop by the fashion magazines because I already bought the usual ones I collect for the month except "In Style" November issue, is not out yet. One magazine from a distance looked so good and glossy, with Lilly Allen on the cover. I just had to go over and take a look at it. It was the November UK issue for Elle price $11.00. Ok I'll get it, November Vogue and W are so small this month I feel I didn't get my fill of fashion this month, I need more.

So I guess this is ok, to compensate.

In the evening with my cup of coffee sitting on the couch, with my two dogs on either side I started to open my new glossy UK magazine. The feeling I get from going through a new issue of a fashion magazine always and still excites me, it is, to me, an escape away.

I have noticed and have been noticing that leather biker jackets are big again. Then I saw a leather vest that looked very similar to one I had in the 80"s. Then I started thinking OMG do I still have my old one under the stairs. I couldn't wait any longer, down stairs I went, with my dogs as they wondered, what I was doing, and why did I get up from the couch when it was so confortable. I started pulling out all the christimas decor and then finally I reached my plastic bins.

As soon as I opened one bin of clothes it was like opening a diary of all the memories. It is amazing how one piece of clothing can take me back to how I felt at that time. What music I was listening to, to who did I have a crush on, where I was working and what drink I would order when I went out. I suddenly started singing the Wham song, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, but still no vest. I was praying please I hope I didn't throw it out. Finally the second last bin there it was under my faded 501 jeans with the exposed button fly...THE LEATHER VEST. I was so happy.

Now when and where I am I going to where this.
